Got another box of my stuff from Japan yesterday, shelves are looking a fair bit more crowded now.
And one of my desk for good measure, since there’s a figure sitting there too.

Some overlap in the images there, but I couldn’t be bothered installing photoshop to clean it up right now. In any case, that’s what my figure shelves look like so far. Still got plenty more to setup coming in the mail too…
Most of these ones are the ones I had before going to Japan. It’ll be a lot more crowded once I add all the ones I got in Japan this past year. There’s another shelf above the two in the photos too, so that will fill up fast. What I really need is enclosed glass shelves, damn things are a pain to dust.
Well, its nice to be living in a nice large house again. Much more comfortable.

New Ruri Figure

Picked this up at Mandarake in Namba today. I was surprised they actually got a new Ruri figure in. Ruri Figure
Mandarake is a second hand anime / manga / action figure / games / consoles / collectibles store. With everything from little toy cars to life size statues.
While we were in Namba I also picked up the newest volume of the Yotsuba& manga (in english anyway, vol. 6), and some Japanese flashcards. I’ll learn some Japanese eventually… heh.
The Train I Catch To Work…

The train I catch to work each day was recently depicted in a new episode of Haruhi. Its a Hankyu Railways train running between Osaka and Kobe.
The style they use for their trains is obvious, and in another section of the episode, they’re in a shopping arcade in Nishinomiya, where one of the schools I teach at is. Damn good likeness of the train too.

Monika bought me two new figures for our anniversary. They can be seen along with some of the others I’ve collected. There’s Ruri on the top shelf, and Haruhi on the bottom. Haruhi is 1/4th scale, pretty damn large.

Evangelion 2.0

The new Evangelion movie hit cinema’s Saturday. I ended up going to the Sunday evening showing (being busy on Saturday with work and such). It’s so much better than the first movie in so many ways, can’t wait the 1-2 years needed before the next one hits!
It being in Japanese, I only understood the storyline, and the general flow of conversation from the words I could pick up and my knowledge of the plot. But it was still great fun. I’d gladly pay to go see it again…
They also had a meal deal for the movie, popcorn, drink and Asuka figurine for 1500 yen. All the containers were Eva themed (the popcorn was labeled ‘Calorie Supply System’), so of course I got that.
The cinema has a small goods shop from which you can buy posters/pamplets/random goods for the movies they’re showing. As such I bought a bunch of Evangelion goods. The ones I ended up getting are in the pictures below (as well as a pamplet not shown).
